In the Clinic Heart you may receive care for needs such as:

• Acute problems such as a fever, respiratory illness, stomach pain, sprained ankle, skin rash, and minor emergencies
• Chronic problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure and asthma
• Preventive care such as physical exams

Clinical staff:

Our staff are fully licensed, credentialed and include medical doctors, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses. We recommend that you select one clinician as your primary care provider (PCP), with whom you will consult for all your health care needs, or we can recommend a clinician for you. Communication is a vital part of exceptional health care. IU Health Center offers foreign language translation by telephone through a bonded subscription service for non-native English speakers. Nurse practitioners and physician assistants as well as nurses and medical assistants are committed to providing quality primary care at the Clinic Heart so that students can fully recover from illnesses and injuries quickly. Patients are encouraged to see the same provider whenever possible to establish a relationship with an individual who truly understands their health needs.

Cancellations and Emergencies

If you can’t make a scheduled appointment please call at least two hours in advance. This helps us ensure other patients can be treated promptly.

In the event of serious conditions that need advanced care, Clinic Heart works closely with B Hospital and its ambulance service. Clinic Heart is not affiliated with University Health, its physicians, or its urgent care clinics. The decision to extend operating days was prompted by the increasing demand for Clinic’s various services. By adding one extra day, we are hoping that patients will be able to obtain appointments quicker and crowding will be manageable. We are also expecting more volunteers to join us as most of them are available on weekends only. The clinic heavily depends on volunteer help, particularly in medical care area.
